Help Topic: Video
To add a new video clip to your baby's website, start by creating a new video page by clicking "add video page" from the Website Manager. After you have filled in your page information, click "browse" to locate the video file on your hard dive. Click "submit" to begin uploading your video.
Choose the page you want to edit by clicking "edit" next to the page title in the Website Manager. Click "remove video" next to the video you would like to remove. A popup window will appear displaying the option to "remove" or "cancel". Click "remove" to remove the video from the page and then click "close window" to return to the Edit Video Page.
After your video has been uploaded, you will be able to add your captions from the Edit Video Page. Write in your caption next to the video icon and click "save".
You have three different video dimensions to choose when upload a video clip. The video size you choose depends on the resolution of the video clip you are uploading. Low resolution video clips will appear blurry at larger sizes. It is best to upload your video clip, then, go back and adjust the size until you are happy with the appearance of your video.
It is very important to optimize your video clips before uploading them to your website. Not only does this save you disk space, but it also cuts down on the time it takes you to upload your video and for visitors to download and view your video.

We recommend using video editing software to compress your video clips prior to uploading to your website. Microsoft's Movie Maker is free with Windows XP. Mac users can use iMovie.
